Heather Bricker (Helsel) hails from Oklahoma City, attending Putnam City West High School where she was a drummer in the school band, flag captain, debate team captain, and lifeguard. Upon graduation, she moved to Norman in 1995 to pursue her undergraduate and graduate degrees.
During college, Heather joined the insurance industry part-time as an agency marketing representative and, by 2005, had attained both insurance and securities licenses, completed her MBA and owned
Bricker Insurance & Financial Services. Always a leader, she served as president of the Central Oklahoma Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors and regional vice-president and board member for the Oklahoma Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors.
In addition to her academic and professional accomplishments, Heather was recruited to the Oklahoma City Ronald McDonald House board of directors in 2004 and served as chairwoman of the tremendously successful 2005 & 2006 Red Shoe Gala annual fundraiser, providing housing and other support to families with gravely ill children.
In 2008, Heather, already a stepmom, had a son and decided it was time to pursue her next challenge: full-time Mom (and helping Michael build a startup professional education firm along the way, of course). And now, with her sons launching themselves into adulthood, she returns as the operations
manager for Bricker Insurance Education.
In addition to parenting and work, Heather can be found jamming behind a drum set, dominating in competitive paintball tournaments, and, as much as possible, on the beach with a slushy drink.
