Chief Education Officer
Michael has been blessed with a life as varied as it is distinguished. After joining the U.S. Navy in 1987, he began a series of journeys that brought him into contact with many cultures from around the globe. His travel experiences ranged from North and Central America to Southeast Asia and the Middle East. While stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, and leading Operations-Intelligence divisions aboard several naval warships, he had the opportunity to coordinate with and train military units from such diverse countries as Canada, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, and Great Britain. He concluded his military career as a leadership and management trainer for U.S. Naval Reserve officers and enlisted personnel.
Michael separated from the U.S. Navy, well-decorated, with significant commendations from Commander, Battle Group Echo during Operation Desert Shield/Storm for qualification as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Combat Information Center Watch Officer; from Commander, Naval Base Treasure Island for providing security to the Vice President of the United States; and from Commander, Naval Reserve Force for selection as the 1992 Regional Readiness Command Shore Sailor of the Year.
Always seeking new challenges, Michael accepted a position as a Farmers Insurance Group Assistant District Manager in 1994. Over the next four years while directly responsible for the recruiting and training of new agents, district revenue increased 156% with a corresponding 68% increase in full-time agents. In 1997, in an effort to broaden his experience in the financial services industry, he founded Bricker Insurance & Financial Services, a captive agency with Farmers Insurance Group providing insurance and investment solutions. Additionally, in 2002, he co-founded Omnia Insurance Group, an independent property & casualty insurance agency specializing in commercial lines insurance and risk management.
During this same period, he completed graduate school with an MBA, attained both the LUTCF and CLI professional designations, and was selected from among 14,000 agents and 550 district managers as the 2001 John Edward Hutton Award recipient, Farmers Insurance Group's highest honor for scholarship, achievement, and educational leadership.
In 2006, Michael returned full-time to his true passion for education. After relinquishing his ownership in both agencies, he founded Bricker Insurance Education to provide the highest-quality, results-oriented training programs in the financial services industry.
A passionate advocate for financial services professionals and the vital importance of professional competence through continued education, Michael is a sought-after public speaker and motivational trainer. A recognized expert in developing results-oriented training programs, he authored The Edge of Achievement: Essentials of Peak Performance and co-authored the Local Success Planning leadership training programs for the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors.
He is a past member of the Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner's Round Table, a two-term state president of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors - Oklahoma, a past member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals - Oklahoma City, and a graduate of the Leadership in Life Institute.
